Update – Replica Booth Diaries for Sale

Mr. Marsella graciously sent me some more images of one of his completed Booth diaries to share.  I think you’ll agree that his work is extremely detailed and the very best reproduction available.

As I stated before, you can purchase your own, hand-made, replica John Wilkes Booth diary from Mr. Marsella for the low price of $400 plus $25 shipping paid through PayPal.  I’ve already helped facilitate the sale of seven of Mr. Marsella’s creations.  If you would like to order one please email me at: boothiebarn (at) gmail (dot) com and I’ll send you instructions on how to send payment. Update: Pasquale has no more John Wilkes Booth diaries for sale and will not be making any more. Thank you all for supporting his wonderful creations.

There seems to be a dark graying as you get to the edges of (all/some of?) the pages containing Booth’s writing, What is the reason for this? I would like to see close-ups of the edges of those particular pages to see how Mr. Marsella dealt with them and how he trimmed them. All of the pictures you present FAIL to show all of the outer edges of the pages containing Booth’s writings. Why? Also, the writing appears very dark and slitely out of focus. Did Mr. Marsella use the FBI’s color photos in reproducing all of these pages bearing Booth’s handwriting? Other than that, your photographs of this reproduction look terrific to me. One mo’ thing — what’s the bit with the CDV of Lincoln? It’s a joke, isn’t it? (I liked it!).

    • Richard,

      As I explained here: http://boothiebarn.com/2013/03/21/replica-booth-diaries-for-sale/#comment-2101
the darkening of pages in certain points is due to the need to increase the contrast on the pages in order to make the faint handwriting visible and printable onto Pasquale’s pages. The soiling on the original diary is increased with this contrast adjustment and is the reason for the darker parts of the pages.

These are all the photos I have of the diary, so I can’t provide you with any more until I get my diary in the mail.

    • Hi Richard,
thanks for looking and enjoy my work.
The main problem on the handwritten pages was the edges. If you looking the original Booth’s diary that part is really cripple (for long use and dirty parts of pencil) and parts of pages was pull out from the time/use.
Re-create. clean and re-work it wasn’t simple and believe, I done my best to have the text more clear possible.
      Bests,
      Pasquale Marsella

  2. One thing I forgot to repeat in this post, but is important to prospective buyers, is that payment to Mr. Marsella is done safely and securely through PayPal. Thanks for your interest!

Posting this on all pages pertaining to the Booth diary replicas:
Waiting on pins and needles for my Booth diary! Pasquale asked me to send folks to him if they want a diary and he can make them now. I thought I was out of luck to get one. Happy to be proven wrong!
