There are many who firmly believe Booth was never buried; that his body was mummified and now rests with a private collector.
There are also many who firmly believe things like the earth is flat or that Donald Trump won the 2020 election. Those who believe that Booth survived and was turned into a mummy are equally and laughably wrong.
Ha! I LOL about the beliefs of some people!
Question: How much of John Wilkes Booth is buried there? One of his neck bones is on display somewhere, right? (I think I read that somewhere.) Is the rest of him buried there, do you think? (I’m remembering Powell, with his head in one place and the rest of him in another.)

You are correct that three of Booth’s vertebrae were removed at his autopsy. These were the vertebrae through which Boston Corbett’s bullet passed. They were given to the Army Medical Museum, which, for a time, was housed on the third floor of Ford’s Theatre. The vertebrae are currently housed in the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Silver Spring, Maryland. In addition, there is a small specimen of Booth’s thoracic tissue at the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia. This specimen was likewise collected during Booth’s autopsy. The rest of Booth, save some hair clippings, are buried here at Green Mount.
Thanks for the video and clarification. A question: since this is a significant historical issue, and since there have been recent advancements in underground imaging, would it be possible, pending approval from the living Booth family members, to utilize technology in order to verify the burial spots without violating the court order concerning the burial plot?
While I’m sure ground penetrating radar could be done on the plot, it would likely require the permission of Green Mount Cemetery, who I doubt would have any interest. While there are a few distant Booth descendants who have embraced Finis Bates’ fringe conspiracy theory that JWB escaped his death at the Garrett farm, there isn’t really any solid historical evidence in favor of it. Recent handwriting and DNA comparisons have disproven practically all of the claims by the conspiracy theorists, completely negating any remaining reason to even consider exhuming John Wilkes Booth.
