Cox and Mudd for Delegates

Samuel Cox, Jr. and Dr. Mudd both ran for different seats in Maryland’s general assembly in 1877. Cox would win but Dr. Mudd did not.

    In my on-going research of my Swann/Mitchell ancestors I recently discovered that my great grandfather, William DeCorsey Mitchell, served in the Maryland Legislature in 1878 with Samuel Cox Jr. He, my great grandfather also served with several different Mudd’s in 1882 and 1890.
