John Wilkes Booth, the 26 year-old actor and later assassin of President Lincoln, was photographed many times over the course of his life. The numeration for his photographs is based on the 1979 book, John Wilkes Booth Himself by Richard and Kellie Gutman. Further information about these photographs can be found in their book.
Here is my animation combining this and the preceding portrait: http://chubachus.blogspot.com/2015/01/animated-time-lapse-carte-de-visite.html
Chubachus,
Again, thank you so much for sharing this. I love the work that you do.
Dave
I have the Original Authentic Pic like this one. Its not a copy and I have already had it Authenticated But not priced. Its in great condition. I was wondering what’s it worth
Sammy,
These pictures are very common as they were widely reproduced in the aftermath of the assassination and given to search parties looking for the assassin. The market of Booth CDVS varied wildly from day to day. I’ve seen copies of this image sell for anywhere between $50 and $200, but the average is just around $100. Good luck!
