Are there any pictures of the inside of the Presidential Box that would show the layout when Lincoln arrived that night?
After the President was shot, the box was the scene of immense chaos. All of the chairs and furniture were moved aside in an effort to help treat the President. While we have some inclination of how the box was set up prior to the assassination, none are in the form of photographs. All of the photographs taken of the interior of Ford’s occurred after the assassination and were essentially recreations of the scene.
