When Willie Jett was captured at the Star Hotel, he was sharing a bed with Izora’s brother, Jesse Gouldman. Years later, a friend of Jesse’s wrote about his recollections that night with the aid of Jesse’s son. Those recollections are housed in the Swaim Collection at Georgetown University.
